Translation from Armenian
The Armenian language belongs to the family of the Indo-European languages. The majority of linguists distinguish it as an independent branch but this question is still debatable. About 9 million people speak Armenian in 30 countries. It has an official status in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Armenian, like other languages, has many dialects, but there are two main dialectal blocks: Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian.

The Armenian language has long history and no scientist can claim what is the starting point of this language. The Armenian Alphabet, created in 406 AD by Mesrop Mashtots, is considered to be the earliest evidence of the Armenian language existence. As the language had become written, the Bible was also translated into Armenian. The Armenian language is still the language of the Armenian church.
The grammatical structure of Armenian is quite complicated but understandable. Grammatical forms of the language are similar to those of the Indo-European languages but Armenian faced some changes during its development and took certain features of the neighboring Caucasus languages. It can be easily seen in the following example: the Armenian word ‘mayr’ has something in common with the English word ‘mother’, ‘māter’ in Latin, ‘mētēr’ in Classical Greek and the word ‘mātṛ’ in Sanskrit.
Nouns in Armenian have several cases (nominative, accusative, locative, genitive, dative, ablative, instrumental) but no gender at all. Even pronouns don’t have the category of gender. Verbs in the Armenian language have three categories. These are the categories of tense, mood and aspect.
Armenian is a very beautiful language and it is considered to be one of the greatest Indo-European languages ever.
